Your Eclipse most certainly will put out waaaayyyy less than 8v. It will ONLY do 8v with the volume @ MAX using 0dB material.(test tones, music recorded @ AHB)
With everyday listening levels, unless you do what's mentioned above. I would expect more than likely less than 1v.

im sorry but is there any1 else who can confirm this, cause it sounds like total BS...

even my 2V pioneer did almost 2V at 3/4 volume and an mp3 track...

yes, they can carry up to 16v of signal, whereas an rca can only do 8 volts max.

and any amp will handle that?

Did you actually measure it with a volt meter ?
Every unit I've tested has only done rated voltage at full volume w/ a 0 dB tone ...

i think we can all agree knuconceptz makes osme good stuff for cheap, just search ebay knuconceptz, or email the guy, he'll get you a deal, great guy to work with, fast shipping, great products,

i've used knuconceptz, cheap shit, and i have all monster cable now, but the knuconceptz and monster cable made no audible difference.. the Qpower or whatever cheap ones, just sound like shit

Think about this, if your HU put out 8v ALL of the time, you'd be driving your amp to full power with volume on 1, and never being to turn it up any louder without the risk of clipping and/or amp failure.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

With music, I'd expect that HU to put out somewhere near 1v - which is common with most, if not all HU.

Eclipse deck have non clipping preouts. They don't clip, even at full volume.

Try this, go get a cd, not an mp3. But a store bought cd. Grab your DMM, turn it on AC. play it @ MAX volume. Read what the voltage is coming out of your preouts Then do it with a 1kHz 0dB test tone. My 8053 doesn't do 8v with music.
