you will need amps for your highs and subs for it to work, the headunit does not have a built in amp like most on the market.

You will also need an external amp to power your door speakers aswell if you dont have it. Right now your mids and highs are probly running off your "crappy ass deck"... Well this nicer deck doesnt have an amp built in to power them so expect to spend lots more money if your door speakers arent runnin goff your external amp.

i think my amp right now is an external amp. All i know about it, is it has 4 channels and 1000 watts lol you can see I'am a newb when it comes to audio.

Very nice older clarion. I use to want one of them when i was 16, but didnt like the high price tag at the time working at a min. wage job.
