noafter imp rise and everything you may be around 1ohm...you may wanna hook it up and check
sounds like you just made some shit up.if its aluminum coil then you would be ok as the rise is around 3 copper i would not, i have worked with a couple hdc3a's. for that amp i would get d1.5's amp will run stable on copper or aluminum*** send back if its not what you ordered dj is a cool guy
the maxxlink will not allow you to do this....fyido not run a sae model amp at .5 ohm it is not built like the saz models..just buy a 2 ohm stable amp or get a maxxlink and get another amp and put one on each coil..
coils dont just read 1 ohm after rise when you slap em in the box.got your box yet? put the sub in the box wired up then test the coils. box rise might put you at 1ohm.
wtf im sick of this, out of all the plp here who has TESTED a aluminum coil hdc3? the ****ing box impedance rise is around 3 ****ing times.... i run dd and aq in mid west spl where you run in clamped classes so yes they do have that high of a rise, the copper is less also dj has the new copper's out they a a full 1 db louder than the old aluminums on the same power, it take around 2k to get the aluminum coils going***i confused dd and aq a lil aq doesn't have a d1.5 lol that what i just ordered for my 3518 lolsounds like you just made some shit up.
the maxxlink will not allow you to do this....fyi
coils dont just read 1 ohm after rise when you slap em in the box.
takes power and a clamp meter to test........even then, it will change every frequency............
no.... where your rise peaks is determined by box port tuning and yes we have one wired to 2 ohms and is rising to 6 also wired to .5 and got...... dum dum dum 1.5... these are burps you cant figure a total imp rise for all freq... if you want to take the time out of your day to clamp 20hz-70hz and avg them be my guest lol but at box peak we are seeing 3x so in a 2000wrms class we are using a sound stream goliath 6500 wired at .5 with gains turned down a lil bit*** w 2010wrms we hit a 150.7 with a single 15 in an intrepidfunny, last i heard the type of coil used doesnt Determine imp. rise, while it does play a factor in it.....
so someone running a d1 aq alum sub @ 2 ohms, is actually rising to 6 ohms, on every frequency that they play?.....highly unlikely.
I think what he's trying to say is that just because YOUR setup rises to 3 times the DCR, that doesn't mean that's going to happen in every case.no.... where your rise peaks is determined by box port tuning and yes we have one wired to 2 ohms and is rising to 6 also wired to .5 and got...... dum dum dum 1.5... these are burps you cant figure a total imp rise for all freq... if you want to take the time out of your day to clamp 20hz-70hz and avg them be my guest lol but at box peak we are seeing 3x so in a 2000wrms class we are using a sound stream goliath 6500 wired at .5 with gains turned down a lil bit*** w 2010wrms we hit a 150.7 with a single 15 in an intrepid
i would say the same except we tested w 3 different cars and 3 different boxes lol, 3.8@38hz in a spectra wired at 1 rising to 2.78 on a aq 2200d slot port, 4.7@46hz in a 4dr cavy on an ia9 got 1268 wired at one rising to 3 10"pvc for port, and 4.9@52 in an intrepid wired at 2 rose to 6-7ohms on an audio pipe 3000 and also wired at .5 on a ss Goliath got 2010wrms pulling a 150.7db on the tl and why would you think that the material the coil is made of wouldn't affect rise... metals act differently when heated...... all im trying to get a crossed is ppl have argued with me today about the imp rise of this sub that have never owned it, while i got dj's autograph on the hdc in my girls cavy atm lolI think what he's trying to say is that just because YOUR setup rises to 3 times the DCR, that doesn't mean that's going to happen in every case.
Why does no one listen to me?Its not what you ordered, so exchange it at no cost to you.
no need to run an amp @ .5 regardless of imp rise, which forum posters cannot predict. Its going to pull more current and run unnecessarily hot.
I don't need to own a sub to know that it's not going to act exactly the same in every single install.i would say the same except we tested w 3 different cars and 3 different boxes lol, 3.8@38hz in a spectra wired at 1 rising to 2.78 on a aq 2200d slot port, 4.7@46hz in a 4dr cavy on an ia9 got 1268 wired at one rising to 3 10"pvc for port, and 4.9@52 in an intrepid wired at 2 rose to 6-7ohms on an audio pipe 3000 and also wired at .5 on a ss Goliath got 2010wrms pulling a 150.7db on the tl and why would you think that the material the coil is made of wouldn't affect rise... metals act differently when heated...... all im trying to get a crossed is ppl have argued with me today about the imp rise of this sub that have never owned it, while i got dj's autograph on the hdc in my girls cavy atm lol
