you can. flared aero's however, is how you get away with having to little port area. you can do around 1/2 the port area as a slot port, as a general rule.

so if i wanted to make my own would 4 4" pvc ports work just as fine as 4 4" flared aeroports

alright so im not going with the aeros. i just cut the pieces to my box and wow i have alot of extra wood! so im going vented so would 50 square inches of port do? with more port area does that mean less port noise?

ight sweet! should start the build tom. thx for the help oh and i jizzed up on the internal volume of me box! its actually 3.8 ft^3 i measured the internal dimensions at

w 40.5"

l 16.5"

h 10"

which is 3.8 ft^3 right! god i hope so. im just erasing having wood thickness right since its the measurements of the inside of the box. hope that works

the port will take up space too, and doesn't count when you talk about net volume (the volume that matters)

ok so i want my box tuned to 33hz so i went to carstereo.com. i want two 5x5 ports. put everything in the calculator and got 25.93 so i divide that by two to get the length of each port right

k for now since i cant stand having no bass ima just build the box sealed then in about a week gona throw in 4 aeros from parts express. thx for all the help yall and the post above is totally irrelevant! dont read. thx to all for all the advice!

edit: anyone say no the keeping this sealed? should i go smaller?
