Rainbow Tweeter mounting

Well, my brother bought some Rainbow SLC 265s. So, I'll be the one installing everything, because he isn't mechanically saavy per say. I have a spot for them, but the little black putty type stuff they give me isn't strong enough to holy the tweeter in. It's in his door, so when he shuts his door, it keeps popping out. What have you guys used or what would you use to mount the tweeter? If needed, I could provide some pictures. Thanks in advance.

Beck

is teh tweeter mounted in the door panel? if so can you take off teh panel and get to the back of the tweeter? teh tweeter should have some hardware that came with it for mounting, iv used metal back strap to hold the tweeter in black from the back.

Well, the tweeter did come with and angle-mount cup, and a flush-mount cup. But I don't think it came with a metal back strap to hold it in. However, you did give me a good idea, which should work. I'm gonna give it a shot and hopefully it will work.

In the meantime, keep posting up how you mounted your tweeters. I'm still interested to see how everybody else did it. Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

They come with that cup and you screw the tweeter into the cup using the mounting harware that comes with it . I used a single layer of electrical tape to make the fitting into the whole I cut very tight so that the cup will not come out. Im pretty sure it shows how to do this in the instruction manual.

I ended up making straps to use with the magnet threads to hold in Germanium tweets. I was very disappointed with the mounting hardware for such quality comps. Got some powers coming for my truck...looks like those are bolted in like the mids...

You sure it didn't come with a threaded bolt and braket with the flush mount cup? It should have been included with the set. If not, contact the dealer our fabricate one yourself by using small sheetmetal strips and bolt from Homey Depot.

I didnt get the metal bracket with my speakers and I'm pretty sure 6spdcoupe wouldnt take them out of the box so I'm not positive that Rainbow still includes that with their comp. kits....but you dont need it just make the hole small enough to create tension between the cup and the door panel and it will stay in.

I didn't get those brackets either....had to make my own. I sure would like to get my hands on some angle mounts, and maybe that cup too. problem is so far I can't find a dealer that has them. Shipping out of Germany is insane!
