Rainbow Germs Installed Today!

I'll be having them mounted very close to the floor. Tweet in the kicks and mid in the stock speaker location. So I'm looking for a good off-axis response. I know the Rainbows have a very strong mid-bass and the DLS has more of a laid back sound which I prefer but still want it to be robust and clear. I'm sure both sets would please me. Unless I save double and get some Morels. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How's the response on the Germs, off-axis, clarity, midrange etc.. ?

My SLC are off-axis. I havnt even switched my polarity because as far as i'm concerned they sound amazing as they are. But they are not very far from the woofer

^Thats usually the best mounting location as far as I've heard for 2-way and evey 3-way setups. I find they blend together much smoother when the tweet and mid are close to each other.

Please guys enlighten me on the Germs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They sound amazing if installed right...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hope so. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm just afraid of the staging, I would like for it to be high and centered even with the drivers being mounted around foot level.

they are at "direct Loud" which means the tweeter is not attenuated at all. I dont think they are overpowering at all, but the tweeters are behind the stock "grill" in the A pillars. When I did some testing with 1 pillar off, there was def. a difference. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

"Direct loud" is just what Rainbow calls the un-attenuated tweeter output setting on the Germanium passive crossover. There are 3 other settings that combine tweeter attenuation along with some rolloff to reduce the tweeter output. You can also set the lowpass frequency for the mid at either 2200hz or 2600hz along with setting the highpass frequency for the tweeter at either 2200hz or 2600hz as well.
