rainbow geraniums active or use the crossover?

I got a set of used geraniums off here awhile ago and im finally going to install them. I am basically stuck between going active on a sundown 100.4 for 100watts x4 channels at 4ohm or getting the 125.2 and using the crossovers that came with the set. I can bridge the mids and tweets for a 2ohm load and get 200/channel so basically the same 100/speaker output im looking for.

Which should i do ? I have never set up an active component set before so im kid of leary, that and the 125.2 is hella cheap right now.

see thats part of my dilemna to i mean i know its better to run them active but i never have with a set of components before and im wondering how big a pain in the *** it will be to set up. That and the fact that to run active it will basically cost me twice as much for the same output per speaker just at differnt loads.

You just gotta be ready to spend a buttload of time tweaking them to find the perfect xover points.

The passive xovers that come with the germaniums really are THAT good. Rainbow spent an assload of time developing those sets. Use the passives.

The germ x-overs do have way more options for tuning than your average component set. I'd try them passive first.

The crossovers that come in that set are actually a hell of piece. Very good quality parts used in them.
