Your wrong there in relation to test. Test have shown allot more then this. The V1 is also allot more sensitive and picks out lasers quicker and more resposive in addition to x-band. They both have their advantages. I've had both in my car right beside each other. And honestly the v1 always picks up just a hair quicker, and has the arrow feature which I always like, but I noticed the x50 had less false alerts. But with the v1 it shows the direction, so if your passing a store and it points that direction you know the difference in a false alert and cop if your in town. Either way, I think we all agree that the escort and v1 are both the top of the line. And like you said, if your not going to purchase one of these 2, then dont waste your money.

Laser speed detection detection is still in its infancy relative to other technologies/bandwidths. By the time your detector can see the laser the laser can see your vehicle. Consequently better or worse sensitivity for that aspect of the detector, at present, is rather inconsequential.

The best method is to put tin foil in your hubcaps...I read online that it will screw up the radar signal.....

I've never tried a V1 ...but from what I've read it should be about the best you can get...I have a new Cobra remote mount I'm getting that will even detect those cameras at stop lights...I hope to get it in the next week or so it is a new product....not available yet...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I had pretty good luck with the top of the line Cobra dash mount in my 07 Focus....It doesn't false like the BEL's ...I've also have ran several models of remote mount whistlers that do pretty good...I'm in the process of putting the remote gauge style detector in my 06 Saleen....

And if anyone is lookin for one I have an x50 for sale. My son and I are both getting a new car. And I'm getting a 4cyl for gas, so I dont plan on needing a radar. If anyone needs this, I'll hook you up.
