Those other amps are mostly made in Europe where wages and component costs are higher.
JL is made in China.

Since when does the fact that it costs more to make the same thing mean that it's actually worth more to the end user than an equivalent product? To me it only means that the company is not doing things right from an economic standpoint. Think about it, if the same amp were made in both Germany and Taiwan and it cost $500 to make the amp in Germany and $200 to make it in Taiwan, is the one made in Germany worth $300 more?

If they were more expensive than genuinely comparable products I would agree with you totally. Problem is that they're really not that expensive compared to other mid to higher end brands.
