"best" home theate sub you've heard

installer at work has an awesome HT room with 4 SS RLP 15s, 2 on each side, tuned to maybe 10 or 12hz cant remember

putfile isnt working so i made a screenshot of the thumbnails, not much but it works

its a big port, maybe 10 or 12" diameter tube per box, fiberglass rings around the subs and ports, its a nice room, wish i had one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i on the other hand just have a Sonotube sub we built with a TC 2000 12, 3.7cubes tuned to 19hz i think, works great for me, sits out of the way behind the TV

the only 2 good ones worth mentioning ive heard that wernt POS HTIB subs

i have a kef av1 (bought new in 1993) thx sub with the kef av1 thx sub"actavator" amp that goes with it. its the size of a small end table, weighs in at 80 lbs it self and 108lbs with the amp attached. it has 2 10" drivers and the amp supplies 400 watts rms(200 per driver.)

a year of so ago, we metered it with the mic in my recliner at 121db at 31hz. not too bad for a 15x25' room

Keep in mind that it is probably a bit better to buy several less expensive subs and place them in various areas around the room, than it is to buy a single expensive sub that you stick in the corner.
