So im sure most of us guys have a home thatre set up of sorts

I have basic 5.1 surround setup with a Dayton sub. It does its job very well and hits the lows with anger //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I remember shopping at Ultimate Electronics and watching a move in the "big budget" room. There was a part in that movie where the sub actually made my pants move. I forget what it was but the guy was really cool and hard it turned up loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

I remember the sub being about $2000 so I most likey wont have it, but I am looking for a new home sub...what have you guys used?

My set up is 70% movies 20% tv and 10% audio only

whats your budget. you can get pretty much a lot of subs to play down below 20hz with the box build. go to hometheatershack.com and ask around. I had recently got a mach5 MJ-18M for the home theater. It is very nice for explosions and such at the sub-stage. CHEAP pricing too. Great company to deal with.

ps- I have it tuned to 20hz.

My brother in law has a 12 inch sub of some sort. Its pretty old but pounds pretty hard. Im guessing maybe its a polk.

I currently have my 104.7w kappa hooked up to my JVC reciever. The JVC sub it came with wasnt very good.

It sounds alright, more cone area. I want to get a plate amp though so I can feed its full RMS rating.

18" Audiopulse LMS-Ultra in 5 cubes sealed on a QSC PLX3602. Shook the walls and flexed windows, with a truly marvellous sound. It requires a room built specifically for its use, because my basement as built didn't like it very much.

If you're looking for something commercial, I think SVS and Epik Subwoofers are your best value. Aside from that, you can make anything you want. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My attic IB is the best I have personally played with.
Indeed, the IB setups I've heard really are the benchmark.

If I didn't have a suitable room or attic for an IB manifold, I think these: http://www.passdiy.com/pdf/el-pipe-o.pdf would keep me entertained...of course my priorities are about 80% 2-channel music, 19% movies and maybe 1% TV //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
