1/0 gauge power wire

1/0 gauge ground

(2) SA-12D4 Rev.3 subs

CAB 1600.1 amp

now here is my question... i want to wire these down to 1ohm! as far as speaker wire, what size should i use to wire these up? i was going to use 12 gauge but the jumper wire and the positive wire joined is to big for the voice coils! would 14 or 16 gauge be ok to use?

wew lad, you cannot simply state that. you have to know the amperage of the load.

@ 1ohm 3000 RMS. amperage^2*impedance is wattage.. so about 53 amps. 14 or 12 under NEC code ist rated for anywhere CLOSE to that.

with a amberiant tempature of less than 120 degrees a single conductor freeair #8 is rater for 55 amps. that is with less tha a 5% in voltage drop/loss.

why did i say 1 ohm then? thats 30-50 amps, on music, thats not a concern. you wont be anywhere near 1 ohm unless you wire to .5 ohm and play tones, thats a different story.

even at 2 ohm its still above the rating. I not trying to be a **** im trying to help. get the 8ga wire and call it a day. i dont care if you use cheap *** power wire over 14ga speaker wire..

splice one wire longer, have the other wire wired properly close to the bottom of the longer wire while leaving the top slack free for fitting into the inputs, heat shrink and you are done. Solder is optional.

nice, i like how you listed the circuit length in those calculations. do i really have to argue with you over this?

if you wish i calculator the circuit length in my equations i dont mind doing that as well. which can be quite important in low voltage DC, but typicall your talking 40-80 volts AC so its not yuuuggee.

why the f*ck would he need 8 gauge speaker wire on a pair of 600 rms subwoofers and a 1600 rms amp?
donald trump. we where discussing the 1 ohm 3000 watt RMS amperage Via the amps output. i liked the 8ga becasue its not that expensive. why NOT go with the 8ga. its been proven that hte 1600 is capible of producing 3k for dynamic peaks. he covered on those rare peaks. its not much more money and will save him for upgrading if he decides to strap them.

now can you get off my balls?

its not a 3k amp. certified clean is 1.6k Dynamic is bullsh*t numbers Just like in bass race 30 seconds music, you db scores dont get higher vs a 30 second long burp. WHy the fk does your power rating and amperage draw gets higher on music vs a bonafide pure torture 0 db sine wave. Most music in recording levels dont even get to -1 db let alone 0 db. When the signal strength is telling the amp to make less power how the fk do you get more power out of music huh? Only numbers worth looking at for an amp dyno is a the certified and uncertified (soft clip) numbers.

OP is not wiring to .25 ohms or some stupid sh*t either to get that 1 ohm resisitive load thats on the amp dyno.
