I just had a quick question about setting up the rca cables. In my amp manual it says for a mono signal, you should HAVE to use a y splitter. But other ppl say its not necessary. Does it matter if i use a y splitter or not to hook the amp to my hu? right now im not.

I guess I should add, I have a 2 channel amp and its bridged to 4 ohms...

Basically, if you have stereo outputs on your source unit and a mono input on the amplifier, then you will need a Y splitter to combine the two stereo channels into one input for the amplifier. Some mono amps still have stereo inputs, which they combine inside the amp.
