quick Q: HD TV resolutions

The 1080p isn't worth it on a smaller screen, but HD in general is. Hell, my laptop screen is HD and it kicks the crap out of my TV.
And they did merge, but they still label their own products. Just like all the GM cars are the same thing with different badges

well i remember they used to sell "phillip magnavox" TVs before. so does that mean that phillips and magnavox are the same quality?

yeah ive never had an issue with magnavox, thats what my family has always used. the TV in our den, which im watching now, is a magnavox. its a good 10 years old and still works great. parents had an old magnavox until a couple months ago when they bought a 42" LG HD TV //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif lucky bastards.

I also really like my parents' 52" RCA DLP projection TV. Obviously thicker than an LCD, but it has a really nice picture, and I saw it at wally world the other day for like $800

the majority of LCD screens are built in like 4 different factories. Stores just mess with the settings to make more expensive stuff look better.
Best bang for your buck LCD is probably the Vizio line

RCA is outta the Q for me. weve owned 2 and both died in like a month. in fact, anything ive had that was RCA ended up dying on me.

Wierd, we haven't had a problem with ours. I probably would have picked something else too, but we didn't pay for it. An old military friend of my dad's is like a regional manager for WalMart for the entire Northwest. My dad found out where she lived last year and they started talking regularly again.
