Ok, got a Type r alpine 12" 4 ohm DVC sub today(xmas) and I have a question. Can you wire a 4 ohm dvc sub at 4 ohms on one channel? I am powering it on a CFA602 crossfire amp. and it is hard enough to figure out it's wiring(no manual). Please let me know. I would prefere to run only on set of wires to the sub(limited wire). LMK thanks

That

Suckas

Well, what would happen If I ran it at 2ohms by series and then but 4ohms to it? Would it really make a differance. Logic tells me it would hurt the sub or the amp. I tryed it at 600w brigged at 4 ohms and the sub was at 2 ohms and it sounded better than 300w @2ohms. LMK

if you put a 2 ohm impedence on the amp it can damage the amp, and the amp can damagae the sub. you can try one coil bridged @ 600w, but that will blow the sub if you power it fully or you can try the sub @ 2 ohms plugged into one channel @ 300w. Or if you dont really care about the life of your sub or amp you can bridge 2 ohms and see what happens. best would be to get the 2ohm DVC

Ya, I think I will. It still has a shi* load of base. I turned up the gain just a bit from 24.9V to 26V even @ 40htz. It sounds pretty good. I am deciding to get a differant amp or not. We will see when I get everything installed and in place. Thanks for all the input.
