QUICK help please!

I know this is a stupid question but just a quick answer. Viewing the VC wiring guide I see how with 1 DVC sub you can get half its resistance wiring it a certain way, but it starts with 2ohm DVCs, so just wondering if I have a DVC 1ohm sub but a mono amp thats not stable lower than 1ohm how do I wire that? Can I wire it same way I would wire a 2ohm DVC to get 4ohms but in my case I'll have 2ohms resistance? I have enough power so that at 2ohms I'll be fine for my sub.

I got an FI SSD15" DVC 1ohm with copper coil. I got it for christmas and just getting around to install it I have been crazy busy.

i would wire it like the second pic on the voicewiring page, but im not for sure...never installed a 1ohm sub

yea. and I know I'm referring to the guide, i just wasn't sure if it would be the same for the 1ohm DVC or different for some reason because it wasn't in the guide.

depends what kinda amp you have. is your amp stable at .5 ohms? if no, then you need to wire that sub so it shows the amp 2 ohms (if your amp is stable at 2 ohms)

if not, your s.o.l.

If your amp is not stable below 1 ohm, then your only choice is to wire in series. In a 1 ohm DVC sub, wiring in series will result in a 2 ohm final load. Should have gone with the dual 2 ohm version. This would have allowed you to wire in parallel, resulting in a 1 ohm final load. Thus allowing you to utilize your amps' power to its full potential. Thanks and yes that does help, but I'm running a PG Xehnon 1200.1 which is rated for all 1-4ohms for its power but just wont handle below 1 ohm. the 2ohm will be fine tho. Thanks for the help guys

You're welcome for the help. And by the way, you could always get another amp that is stable to 1 ohm or under. Sell the other amp, and get what you need. Or, you can get another of the same sub and wire in parallel and end up with a 1 ohm final load. Just a couple possibilities.
