I usually just aim a little higher than the rec volume. Therefore, I think the volume listed means after displacement.

But like someone else said, the difference isn't very audible.

i would give it .9 without displacement. usually on the specs it will have the drivers displacement listed.

so you're saying .9 not counting displacement right? So .9+sub displacement, right?

I would disagree, I would think they would list the NET volume (volume after displacement)

know the first guy is saying without displacement. So he is saying the box without the sub mounted.

The second guy is saying the net volume meaning the box and the displacement or sub mounted.

when it is listed is there a name for it, like volume displacement of something?

As an example, here's what stereo integrity's website says:

Sealed = 2.3 to 3 cubic feet.

Vented = 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 27 Hz.

The enclosure volumes above are after port and driver displacement.

15" driver displacement is 0.25 cubic feet.
