Quick comparison question

I posted awhile back regarding some opinions on a budget system. Long story short, for good reason, I'm looking at specifically kicker subs. I know there are better options out there, but bare with me. How would one Kicker CVR 15 stack up against a pair of CVR 12's? Assuming we were talking about an SUV, with a sealed box around 2.25 cubic feet, running on their rated RMS. Thanks in advance

It's going to sound okay as kicker is average and not as loud as 2 12"s.

Technically if you were to run (2) 12's at their rated power it would be louder than (1) 15 at its rated power. Both in cone area and power...

2 12s would prob be louder, but, i'd take a ported 15 over 2 sealed 12's

My question isn't so much if the 12's will be louder, it's more along the lines of how much louder and how close to proportionate (power wise).

Circumstances are a bit unique, that doesn't seem as cost effective. Unless it could seriously blow a pair of CVR 12's out of the water, I'll stick to what's available to me

well 2x12's is ~20% more cone area and 800watts vs 500watts so it should be an audible louder

you could do 2x10's ported in a similar space and would be louder yet

I figured I would go sealed, considering the types of music that I listen to. I may play the occasional rap song, but for the most part it's country, metal, techno, dubstep, or oldies. Right now I've got a Powerbass PB-B105D V.2 that I've been happy with, aside from not being loud enough. I'd like to get at least twice as loud, and I'm not sure that the single 15 will do it.

The AQs will actually be quite a bit louder then the Kickers...that said, either setup will be louder then the single PB sub

CVR's are great subs for the money, and sound good. Buy what works better for you.

You might be happier with 2 CVR 10"s with the kind of music you listen too.

The issue with the AQ is that I could only manage to buy one. I don't doubt that a pair would drown out the CVR's, but I'm not sure that one would.

It sounds like you're wanting SQ, in that case, I wouldn't get Kicker.
