Best Way To Clean A Surround?

Is there any best way to clean up a surround? I used a screwdriver that had a little rust on it when I mounted and now there's rust marks on the surround. Is water just okay or will that cause the surround to weaken?

Butyl surrounds are naturally resistant to all kinds of ****... new school foam surrounds are treated and are also fairly resistant...

dish soap and water should work fine, but Id probably use rubbing alcohol or alcohol wipes as suggested...

4 1/2" grinder, don't use a 6" grinder.............it will scuff the cones.

brillo pad or sand paper. make sure you put lots of elbow into it tho or they wont come out. make sure you wet it with acetone or laquer thinner first.

thats what i was thinking also. i was like wtf as some of the responses. but id probly just start off trying like a scuff pad and some water and just go over it lightly to scuff it off dont press down tho or you will scuff off pieces of the surround
