I'm trying to think of the best way to hook up a RE SR10 DVC 4 ohm sub. The amp would have approximately the following specs:
4 Ohm RMS Power: 4 x 150 Watts @ 13.8 Volts
2 Ohm RMS Power: 4 x 300 Watts @ 13.8 Volts
4 Ohm Bridged RMS Power: 2 x 600 Watts
The sub is rated at 300 watts RMS. Now is that 300 watts per coil, or 150 per coil, for a total of 300 watts.
So what would be the best way to hook up this amp/sub. I don't want to blow the sub as soon as I hook it up. Should I look at a larger sub, 2 ohm sub, or just keep gains down. I will be using 2 channels for front components, so I have 2 channels open.
I really appreciate all the help I have received so far. Thanks.
