Question on Rated wattage

I have a Zapco 200.2 and its rated at:

Stereo, 4 ohms:2 x 50 Watts

Stereo, 2 ohms:2 x 100 Watts

Bridged, 4 ohms:1 x 200 Watts

T.H.D. + Noise:

S/N Ratio:>95dB

Slew Rate:>23V/uS

Damping Factor:>160 @ 4 ohms

Dimensions:11"L x7.5"W x 2"H

I have herd that Zapco under rates their amps, so realistically how much wattage can I expect from this amp?

So would that be too many watts to power my 22" Plye Subwoofer, oh and I set the gain and bass boost, all the way up too???

If anyone would like to be serious I would appriciate the help

Benching it is the only way to know for sure.

Do you guys think this amp would go good with some PG rsd65cs?

I want to run it in 4ohm stereo to get to least amount of distortion, but it is rated 10 watts rms lower than the rsd65cs minimum rms. I am thinking that this would be fine because I have herd most Zapco amps are underrated.

I tried to call around and no one does benching around me, or at least I couldn't find anyone who does.

Unless you have bench test specs on the same model amp available to look at and know for fact, Id just go by rated power and consider any excess as 'headroom'.

With that said, try calling Zapco and ask them.

I wouldnt be surprised if it did 115-120W RMS...

Zapco amps are badass.

I'd guess more along the 60-75W range. Never seen a speaker with a "minimum RMS." Do they shrivel up and die if you turn it down?

usually, with brands that underrate thier equiptment like kicker. they arent usually too far off from whats actually going through. however, my fridns kicker amp is rated at 750 but it said 930 on a sheet that came with it rms wise. its powering his kicker l7 which also takes around 930 but i would worry abotu overpowering anything unlees your like 20 watts above cranking it at full.
