Question on keyless entry install

i have a 1999 mercury villager with power locks and i bought a Crimestopper cs-865rke series II

Trouble I am having is when i push the lock/unlock button on the remote the lights flash but the locks dont work.

I believe it is all connected correctly, I got the vehicle wiring diagram from www.the12volt.com and used the install mnanual for the keyless entry.

anyone with any experience with crimestopper or any keyless entry please let me know if there is something i didnt do right.

i have the wires hooked up like this:

blue/black unlock output connected to the vehicles unlock wire (red/white)

violet and violet/w black are grounded

green /w black is connected to the vehicles Lock wire(red)'

I assume since the lights flash and the led are working correctly the other harness is connected correcct (power and ground and such)

check the wires you tapped into with a DMM. When you press lock or unlock, then the wire ought to ground out for just a second. If that's not happening, you've got the wrong wire.

how exactly do i do this?

touch the red lead to the wire and the black to a ground?

dmm set on dc voltage?
