Question on fuses for 2nd batt

So I just got a d3100 for the back and I got another fuse and fuse holder. The new fuse and fuse holder are to add on to the end of the run of positive from batt to batt. My question is am I also gona need another fuse and fuse holder to go from the 2nd batt in the back to the amp? And if not would I be safe in connecting the amp without it, relying on the amps internal fuses, until I get another fuse and fuse holder?

Diagram to better understand what am asking. Also if I do need to fuse it should it be closer to the battery or the amp?

fuse every power wire within 18" of each battery. no positive battery lead should be unfused (unless it feeds the starter with a fusable link).

the fuse protects the battery from exploding in the event of a direct short to ground.

so yes, the rear battery will have two fuses - one on each power wire.
