I just finished my 1st custom sub box, its made to fit the rear right corner of my 1995 Dodge Neon.
It is made up of a 1/2 inch MDF Face that has a 10 inch cutout. Designed around the 10 inch Infinity Sub.
The rest of the box is combination Wire Mesh for shape and about 3 - 4 layers of fiberglass. The outside is covered in bondo to fill the shape out.
Problem is there is some air leakage at the corners, which is causing problems with the way the speaker sounds.
My thought was to use some sort of material and silicone to sound proof the inside, with the outside just covered in carpet.
any thoughts on this?
