Question on a road rage law..

I agree, that was a really bad idea. Imagine being a woman and some guy you pissed off follows you then walks up to your car at a stoplight. It's a really good thing she didn't have a ccw.
In the state of Louisiana she wouldn't have needed one so long as the firearm wasn't somewhere physically on her person.

Due to a couple of our laws concerning guns in the home and your vehicle being considered an extension of your home by law there is no such thing as a concealed weapon in a vehicle in our state.

It can be stashed in the glovebox, under the seat, wherever you prefer so long as it isn't physically hidden anywhere on your body or in your clothing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

My .45 sits under the driver's seat of my car if I'm not wearing it (which I usually am) so anyone walking up to my window after I've flipped the bird to them for whatever reason will find themselves looking down the business end of something they don't wanna hear make any noise.

This was truly not one of the better decisions I've read about on the forum...

You have zero to worry about, legal wise.

Pretty much how things will go down, if she does try to file a report, the police will ask if you toucherd her....no.

Did you touch her vehicle...no.

Did you create a circumstance in which there was clear and present danger....no.

They will then tell her to stfu and go home.

Atleast that has thus been my experiance in Oklahoma...

i would have killed you dead so be happy ... when you get pulled over in the future the cop will get a notice when he runs your plate how many times they have had a call in about you and will be less leinent(sp?)

i would not suggest doing that again unless you plan on a physical confrontation and if that be the case atlest have a weapon because almost everyone i know carries a nig knocker or a gun. olus if that were my ole lady and she had your plate number i would track yo *** and come pay a visit for you getting out of your car in a threateng manner

Thanks for the replies. I definitely wont do something like that again.......especially since nobody knows who is carrying a gun or not

I'm aware it was a stupid idiotic move on my part........live and learn.

damm foo i wuld of blassed yo *** fo rizz cuh.

in all honesty i carry a rocket launcher in my backseat so don't step son.

for real, you guys carrying your guns around in your car who live in Northwest Louisiana, Arizona, and Texas... is it really that bad? or do you just want the security. I'm not trying to rag on you i'm just curious. where do you get a license to ccw anyways?

one of my ex girlfriends got a ticket for road rage. we were driving, and someone cut her off so she got over in the other lane and passed them and put her hand up like the "what the fuck" hand gesture where you just raise your hand infront of you with your palm up, and the lady called the cops and told them that she flicked her off, so my ex got a ticket for giving someone the finger while driving lol

and in your situation, she has to tell the cops "well i flicked him off so he got out of his car" in which case she would be breaking the law also....

I'm in Louisiana, as most know, up here in the northwest corner, and I do not carry a gun in the car because it's "that bad" around here because it isn't.

I cannot speak for anyone else's reasons but for me it is a case of being a military brat and growing up around guns. Dad is really big into hunting, fishing, all that kind of jazz and there being guns of all various types around the house when we were growing up wasn't any big deal to us.

I bought the first handgun I ever purchased for myself the day I turned 21 because that was the day it became legal to do it on my own without anyone's supervision or help.

I do not know the process to acquiring a ccw permit in any other state but here you go to your parish's (Louisiana has parishes rather than counties for those who do not know) courthouse and fill out an application. Once the fees are paid and you've provided them proof that you have attended an approved gun safety course and assuming your background check comes back clean your permit is issued.

People that have been to some sort of state-approved gun course in the past and can prove it are exempt from the requirement of doing so again. I was a rent-a-cop once upon a time and because I still have the certificate from when I became certified to carry a firearm on post I didn't have to go to a class again. All I did was fill out the application, paid the fees, and waited for my background check to come back.

The process is likely similar in most states that even offer a ccw permit.

how about yourself

believe what you want. once you come live in michigan, and specifically a city of metro detroit where the cops are so bored they give tickets for air fresheners hanging from rear view mirrors(which i have personally gotten) i'll take your opinion into consideration.

kthxbye
