i have one 12'' jl w3v2 and i was wondering if i am damaging my subwoover by playing loud with alot of bass? should i be easy on it, and only play it loud some of the time? thx

ok this is very open ended . its like sayinfg i own a corvette and i drive it fast will it hurt it? what amp do you use? how do you have the gains on the amp adjusted? do you have it crossed over? what kind of box? is it a solid box?

I would say its not bas as long as your system is set up correctly and the time period is not for extreme ammounts of time. Answer audiofiles questions and you should get a certain answer.

well okay I don't understand most of what you asked but I have a JL 250/1 amp. I have a solid box. Gains i don't understand and cross over............sorry dunno

you should be fine 250 watts on a 300 watt woofer

Yeah, I installed it with my uncle. He really didn't teach me what each thing was, but I have a good understanding of installing. Do you have any websites that would explain car audio terms, settings, headunit settings, etc. Thank you

Does high temperature have any effect on the sub + amp + hu + etc?

it can depending on amp loads and location of the amp (ventilation). for a head unit my guess would be you live in a desert.
