Question for taramps guys

New build is starting, final check to have my full budget is here. I'm looking for information on what it takes to run the v2 of the HD8000.

Electrical ideas so far:

320 amp singer

2 runs pos and 2 runs neg front to back 4/0 + big3

Replacing front batt with either North Star or xs group 51

*Rear batts: this is where I need assistance.

Subs: 2 Soundrive SDA 3 12s *Wiring to 1 ohm*

Mids/highs amp: ppi 900.4

Use/listening: Played hard most days up to an hour at a time while driving, normally twice per day. I do not play my systems with the vehicle off. Music: decaf, got 160s ... etc all brought to -3db below 80 hz and gain set -3db tones with scope. (ie hit max output regularly but without clipping.) not competing but might meter just to know

I am looking for information on what kind of bank is needed for the hd8000ex. I know I will be rising, don't know how much.

Thanks guys

You would be fine with just a nice front battery and that alternator most likely. A team mate of mine runs an 8k on a stock alt and 3 rear stinger batteries.

I personally would add a nice g31 in the back and call it a day.

^This

That's plenty of alt for a Taramps "8k"

A good AGM up front would probably cut it, but an extra AGM in the back would be solid unless you wire lower than rated and/or clipping a lot

Any information behind the quotations?
The debate on rated versus real world power. You will never see an actual 8,000 watts clamped from that amp

There have been several discussions

You can't wire it lower to compensate for rise. It's not designed to handle current that is necessary to produce the rated power.

Ive seen many of the tests, Im just looking to get more than what I would out of say a korean 3.5k wired to 1 ohm, and hopefully be more efficient.

Definitely leagues above a korean 3.5k if you are only wiring to 1 ohm. My banda 7k cost as much as my dc 3.5k but totally demolished the fk outta that dc and stayed cold, had better voltages, better sound quality oh man how i wish i never sold it... Oh well taramps amp will be in next year to replace this TFE.

He owned one of those amps and couldn't get loud with it. Then again he couldn't get loud with DD-Z 18's so what does that tell you?

I'll say this, you won't have problems from adding too many batteries but many an amp has been blown up from too few. I'd add as much as you have space to do cleanly and see how it goes.

Probably will over a 3.5k, yes.

One DD Z 12 on a Banda 7k seemed louder than the Z's on the "20k"

My point is everyone is on the Taramps band wagon because of the ratings. Like Noloud4U says, people "think they're getting something for nothing"

I thought you were done riding my nuts, but I guess I was mistaken //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Im going to start with a 51 up front ( or larger if I can mod the tray) and a 31 or similar in back. I suppose I can always buy more batts if they are needed. Space is somewhat a limiting factor but weight is a larger concern for me.

Taramps make plenty of power.

My test: Taramps HD8000 - Car Audio Classifieds

You claiming they do not because you can't get loud with them is just talking out your arse.... again.

No, I'm not talking out my ass, I have real world experience.

Did you miss the part where he blows up the fucking amp?

He couldn't even clamp 6k out of it.

It has nothing to do with how loud I am.

You're a bigger idiot than I thought if you believe you can really get rated power out of Brazilian amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yeah, real world experience at not getting loud and blaming the equipment. My point exactly, and it has everything to do with you coming in here telling people those amps won't make rated power just because your install using them was a failure.

Perhaps you didn't read the part where he explains he was TRYING to blow up the amp just to see how much abuse it would take. Did you read how he did it? Of course not, you've got all the answers for everything and know best.

The clamp numbers are 2.5 ohm were very strong and the clamp at 1 ohm was fine considering his system voltage was down around 11V. Both consistent with that amp being able to make rated power.

The amp did not make rated power at 1 ohm.

You're arguing just to argue with me.

Never did I say you can't get loud with Taramps and I did not blame the equipment.

Find me one fucking clamp that is rated for the HD8000 (and the amp survived).

I don't care what it does at 2.5, that's not the point of the argument.

Go ahead, I'll wait.
