Question for smart ppl! help me plz

hey guys i have a question. i have purchased a orion remote gain control. and thhere is an red LED light which lights up and it says it wnats a 12v hook up. what i was wonderign is hwo can i hook this up? would it be easier to hook it up to a batterie pack a 12v batterie pack? but i don't know will this work? or what else cna i hook it up to. it also requires a ground.

so your telling me to run a wire to the car battier then or rather off of the little wire that turns my amps on?

Why wouldnt you just rob from one of the larger fuses in the panel in the interior of your car(glovebox etc...). They make a female connected that attaches to one of the teeth on the fuse. Then find any suitable ground. I have my remote knob in the center console of my truck and there are several suitable grounding spots. Hope that helps and or makes sense.

doesn't the knob turn on with the amp? as opposed to staying on all the time?

umm ya i don't know. the knob turns on but the red led (backlight) doens't turn on unless you have that 12v current i am thinking. but really i don't know b/c i never had one of these to play around with.

if it doesn't turn on with the amp and needs it's own power, i would use a relay so you could run off your remote turn on and it would turn on with the amp. just my 2 cents.
