Question for religious people.......

Sheep will follow each other right over the side of a cliff. It's all part of a divine plan because sheep like death. This logic is awesome! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

What cliff?

no, from what i heard dinosaurs co-exsited with man. there's a piece in the old testament about where it describes large beasts with thick legs and large tails. something like that....... hold onJob 40:15-24

i still think its BS that dinos existed with humans
I think it was refering to that girl in my highschool graduating class named Shequanda //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

See below
Are you familiar with the Philosophers that sat around and developed methods of controlling large groups of people through talking far before Christianity came about?

You think this is such a far fetched idea yet people have devoted their whole lives to it in a time when everyone was clueless. People didn't know why anything worked. Why objects fell down instead of up when let go of was a complete mystery still. People were even stupider back then and willing to believe anything that answered their questions.

Overall, I feel religion today is more so a tool for making people feel important about themselves. Gives them a false hope so that they have something to live for. I'm not saying that I don't believe in a higher entity above us, but I think to follow a religion that's almost 2000 years old with so many holes in its logic reasoning is ridiculous. I think if every Christian really sat down and observed both sides of the argument, and I mean REALLY unbiasedly looked at the facts, there would be a lot less Christians. This is of course assuming everyone is smart enough to do such a thing.
So are you saying that the smart would, upon rethinking religion, would no longer be christians? I have spent many, many hours deep in thought and study about religion and I come up with the same answer. CHRISTIANITY:D

Not follow it? What the fuck? He has already decided your fate according to this divine plan idea. To say you still have free will means...(dun dunnn dunnnnnnnn)...There is no divine plan. No fate. No predestination. All a sham.
So which one is it, divine plan or free will?
i never said anything about predesination.

God has a divine plan, however it is not predetermined, we are creatures of free will, we can chose left or right, right or wrong. As a christian I make decisions that may be tempting and complicated with a simple determining question, "would God approve" When I get answers that align themselves with that question typically my life goes much better than not putting the decision making process to that test.
exactly

What makes Christianity more plausible than Judaism, or Islam, or Buddhism?

I'm quite curious now....we'll forget about the ridiculousness that is "god" and focus on picking a religion. Why did you choose Christianity? And why do people on the other side of the planet choose otherwise?

And no offense, but your experience is not universal. If we use the intelligence argument, then we should really only value the opinion of the person we deem to be "most intelligent" and that certainly isn't you.

Mind you, the intellectual elite are increasingly atheist when compared with their less intelligent counterparts. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm sure you see what I'm saying. Well, you may not, but others might.

So my question to you is who defined the parameters? Was it merely a human that decided this? What is God himself that came down and said this? Was Jesus really the some of God or was he merely another human? If human, did he have the ability to communicate with the Lord? Did he really rise after the third day or is this just hearsay?
Just a few things to actually think about since humans are in fact fallable.
The parameters were defined by God, he decided to send his Son down from heaven to earth to allow us to be forgiven of our sins. There was no way prior to this event for someone to become Jewish. Upon Jesus being born we (all people) could become children of God, not just the Jewish. Jesus was not merely a human, he was and is still the only "Perfect" human, the rest of us pre and post Jesus are born with sin. As for the ability to communication with God, he did and so do we. If you believe the bible, it is fact, if you don't it is hearsay.

Same question I asked in the earlier thread...
If there's a divine plan, why do you pray to God for a miracle? Why do you ask him, the all-knowing God, to change his plan for your convenience? Surely he has your best intentions at heart!

Of course, if he has a divine plan, then you don't really have free will, either.
my guess is the divine plan is to let you live your life. u get forks in the road /free will. but if there is predestination, i don't thinks humans should just sit there and do nothing about anything. why? IDK, i don't think about that subject too much

Exactly my point. Who are you to tell people that they are going to 'hell'? You have no say, nor reason to push your beliefs on anyone else. Not to mention all the other religions that must be wrong because some guys wrote a book a long time ago says so. And dont forget the numerous versions and revisions of said book.

The first and formost thing is that it was a choice, not somthing that was forced on me. Secondly, There is not one thing in the Bible that can be disproved, Thirdly it is one of the only religions that doesn't worship cows ... that is non violent and supports the betterment of all. this is obvioulsy a very breif list, I could go on for a very long time with actual personal experiances that confirm for me I have made the correct decision.

i hope this helps:D

You've either forgotten or are completely ignorant to at least 7 other "prophets" that have been resurrected.

All humans are perfectly perfect just the way they are. If you want to sign your *** over to some self-limiting dogma, go right ahead. But you need to understand you ARE NO MORE SPECIAL than anyone else. Not even a little. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The best use of the Bible is for firewood in the winter. Keep a stack next to the fireplace for that cold winter night. I BELIEVE it will provide a nice comfy experience.

I will transfer $100 to your PayPal account if you can tell me the person who wrote the Bible you read. $100! PM me with the answer. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And $100 more if you can tell me who started the Christian religion. [hint] it was one person, and his name WAS NOT Jesus [hint].

The one thing that can be proven about the Bible is that it's way too **** long. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
