question about the hifonics bx605

I want to buy this amp, I need an amp to power my sub (a 12" type-r 2+2 ohm) so I need something to run at either 1 ohm or 4 ohms preferably at least 500 watts.

The bx605 is 600 watts @ 1 ohm, but I am not sure if it's stable at 1 ohm OR if it even sounds good. For $140 on ebay im a bit wary about this. Does anyone use this amp????
