Question About Sub Positioning

I am build a fiberglass enclosure for a AA 12" so i obviously have a wooden sub-ring for it. Its pretty tight when it comes to fitting the sub so here is my quesion. Could i position my sub-ring so that it is perpendicluar to the FG base? Also, could i lay the magnet on the base of the FG base? Thanks for your time and replies

if the magnet were laying on the base of the enclosure does that effect the sub or the sound in anyway?

um... can you rephrase that? But, given what i think you were tyring to ask, i wouldnt put the magnet on the FG base... simply because it probably wouldnt be wise for something that vibrates to come in contact with the FG. Its kinda brittle ya know?

gotta keep the pole pice/vent a couple inches away from the base anyway.
