Question about speakers..

Okay so heres the deal.... I have an alpine CDA-105 deck with a max volume of 35. When I turn the volume up to around 15 the speakers distort terribly and I cant really go any higher. This is a problem because my deck cannot provide enough power to my amp at these low volumes. My question is is there any thing I can get so I can turn my volume higher and not distort the speakers? I have factory speakers BTW. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

What I meant by that was that at the low volumes my deck doesnt send out enough power therefore I am forced to turn my gains and bass boost up so that my amp will put out full power at the lower volumes.. If that makes sense. The amp I have is a sundown saz-1500d. The car is a 2000 Pontiac bonneville. If I could turn my volume up to say 20 or 25 then I would be able to turn gains down and bass boost off.. But I am unable to do that

for starters, your car is about 11yr old which means those stock speakers are pretty much shot. i'd be suprized if the surround is still conected. i pulled some stock speakers out of a friends car a few months ago a 2002 diamonte, and he had no surrounds left. so of course it's gonna sound like crap. turning this stuff on the amp all the way up, 1 is not good for yoru subs, 2 i would assume that you'd have the bass and treble settings cranked up. not ot mention your bass engine is probibly on 3. (if that hu has it). with that amp you should have no problem feeling subs even playing on 10-15. what sub/s do you have? how did you wire em in?

Deck volume is directly rated to amp output is it not? So less deck volume= less amplifier output? Is that correct?
no

amp output is from deck volume and amp gain

so for example deck volume 15 amp gain high= x amount of decibles

deck volume 30 and amp gain turned down = same x amount of decibles

but you deff should have bass boost off, make sure the sub is on 15(or highest it goes) on the deck or you'll be way off. Its a common thing for alpine decks, your dont get the full 4v rca out unless you have the sub volume all the way up on the deck
