I did read up on it, and honestly I don't have the time to spend tweaking and tweaking and tweaking (or doing all the math to get the most out of my setup)-- maybe you'll just think I'm ignorant, but I'm going for the most plug and play option here. Are there recommendations you can make for my amp? I don't need you to lecture me. I appreciate your help but I'm not trying to get super technical here. Its not rms or true power or anything related to that, its just physics. your sub will never see a true 1 ohm load when wired to 1 ohm, you'll be around 1.5 to 2.5 ohms depending on enclosure, hence thats why you'll never see full 1 ohm power out of any amp unless you wire to .5 ohms or overdrive the amp into clipping and distortion. Voltages also have an impact on amplifier power so if you are not at 14.4 volts, you wont see rated power either. When I say read up on it, doesnt mean you pass it off and stick to your own logic.
If there is a single 10 or 12" sub that I can pair with my amp for maximum plug and play effectiveness in an average setup that will last a long time and sounds OK, that's what I want. Does that make my intentions more clear?
