Question about ports

recently, i saw a pic on these forums with a port that went like this:

And i was wondering, if you were to calculate to tune the port, would you have to measure the whole thing to calculate it? or just from the top to where it corners off?

you measure the middle of the port, all the way through, and don't forget about the slot-port, end-correction thing

nope, just make sure the port is a couple inches away from the wall

what if it was against one wall but then at the "L" came off into the middle of the box? would you to the end correction then?
