question about port area

Well first of all for SPL you want to tune a little higher, 55hz is more SQ oriented IMO
In MOST cases, this is true. But a lot of big numbers have been done at higher frequencies... it all depends on the driver, the box, and the application, really. There's too many factors for a definitive 'yes' or 'no.'

Reread my post, and I'll get you an application to be on the retard ballot

I have a competition box tuned to 55 and i wouldnt call it a SQ box, about 90 sq inches of port.. Very loud, but i would consider that a good SPL tuning for daily if you were to do it. For daily beating, i'd prefer tuning to 35 in a car that'll peak in the mid 40s.

Is there no sense of obvious sarcasm outside the lounge?
