Question about new headunit and wiring harness

my current headunit is the pioneer deh4200ub. i want to upgrade to the pioneer deh 8400bh and was wondering if i could just plug in the same wiring harness that i had plugged in to my old deck? someone told me i couldn't but i just wanna make sure so i can see if i have to buy another one. i'd rather not if i don't have to

go to pioneer parts and punch up the parts list for both
