Question about my RE MX

So I just installed a 12" RE MX into my car.

After cutting my box (mx is indeed 13" and did not fit) I wired it up, but I wasn't really sure how to wire it to 1 ohm (sub is D2) and the guy at the shop who cut my box got out his RE installation manual and said we did it right...

Fast forward to installing the sub. It's running off a planet audio vx2200D (2250 rms at 1 ohm) and my electrical consists of a yellow top starter and a stinger spv-44 in the back.

Basically the sub just doesnt hit that hard. it moves air and gets low but its not much (if any) louder than my Diamond audio tdx 12" off 1200w...

My voltage drops into the 11s at full crank

HPF and LPF are set correctly

I don't have the big 3 done yet because I don't know how.

You have the positive wire on each coil wired directly to the positive output on the amp, and the negative wire on each coil wired directly to the negative output on the amp, correct?

You did not tell us what box the sub is installed in.

Is that the same box the old sub was in?

Also is highly dependent upon position of the box.

Yes the box is in 2.5^3 @ 35 hz. Same box as the old sub. Sub back port back in the trunk of my car with my back seats down.

it shouldn't be a night and day difference in output by just switching subs, if thats what you were looking for.

Is that box designed for that sub? You can't just throw any sub into any box and expect it to sound good.

You sub should be wired like this:

Re recommended specs are 2.2 @34

my box is 2.5 @35.

I am going to pull the sub and check the wiring today after class.

ed: the sub moves air and gets loud, just not even close to as loud as i expected. also sub doesn not get hot at all.

Are you running a aftermarket deck? if so how many volts is it putting out?

Yeah I have a Pioneer Premier deh-780mp 5v preout.

You do not want your sub to get hot.

Yes I know, but in the past when subs have been wired wrong they got hot very quickly.
