question about mb quart onx1500.1 amp

will it do rated power cleanly? also does it really require 2 gauge wire? i have 4 gauge in my car will it really make a difference if i have 4 gauge instead of two? i dont really wanna switch it out

Yes and Yes, it doesn't NEED 2 gauge but without it it wont put out rated power cleanly

Maybe not, but you need to do the job right, They recomend the bigger wire for a reason. If you call sonic they will cut you a deal on the install kit when you buy the amp

This. I've dealt with plenty of amps that "require" 2 awg and have trouble accepting Knu 4awg. I haven't dealt with an ONYX, but I ran my Discus on 4 and I doubt the ONYX needs bigger.

1500rms requires 2ga wiring, you could end up melting your power wire and starting your car on fire. add another 4ga run to power and ground, you can get it pretty cheap online

4g wiring (at least knukonceptz kolossus) can handle up to 150A just fine (at battery voltage of 12.8v that is just under 2k). Since music is dynamic and you'll probably never be putting out 1500w anyways you'll be more than fine

Are you willing to warranty that? If not don't recommend potentials dangerous situations. I have melted power wire and it is not a fun experience.

Just fuse the **** properly and watch for voltage drops, if u have good 4 GA u should be fine. I run high power amp on 60 amp fuse before and it only popped once over 6 months, ymmv
