Question about JL 10W1 and Alpine amp...

I have a ported box with a JL Audio 10W1 in it (professionally built to spec) in my Subaru 2.5 RS sedan. I am powering with an Alpine MRV-F450 5 channel amp (50w X4 & 200X1 @ 14.4). The sub is just not kicking. What can I do? I have the gain turned all the way up. BTW I am using an Eclipse HU with sub out and I have the sub volume turned all the way up. The only way I can really get a little thump is by turning the loudness on in the HU. I have another car with a JL Audio stealth box (10W3) powered by an MTX Thunder 2150. This thing kicks azz! How can I get my Subie setup to do the same? Thanks in advance.

the first problem is you are comparing a W1 and a W3....

next.. the Alpine amp is rated at 14.4v and that is probably not getting enough juice from your elec system. Also is the sub wired correctly? your gain should never be turned all the way up. Are you getting no bass or just not what you are getting from your W3?

I am getting bass....it is definitely wired properly. It is just not hitting like the W3. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get some more output out of it.

Its not hitting like the w3 because the w3 is a superior sub. Set your gains correctly, first of all. Is your box sealed or ported?

box is ported with the correct amount of air space inside.

200watts and a single low end 10 is the problem. 500 watts going to going to somthing like an Eclipse aluminum, JL10w3v2, Alpine type x 10, will give you what your looking for.
