question about hooking up a alpine cha 1214 cd changer

I hope someone can help me. I have an old alpine cha 1214 cd changer and my question is... Do you need the brain and the Ai-Net cable to run this unit? Or can you run this with just the cable? I am selling this unit. I want to make sure I have everything before I sell it. If someone could explain what the brain does also would be appreciated thank you.

all you need is the cable from the deck to the changer as long as the ends match

Those usually sell with just the Ai cable (if they include it at all).

The brain is the Ai controller built in to Ai capable Alpine HU's.

Almost nobody used them with an external controller.
