the box i have now is at 32hz . sounds good with about everything . if i tune higher say around 38-40 range will i still be able to get the lows for daily listening . granted im putting in 4 15" massive qc's so it should be able to grab something but id like to meter somewhat well and still be able to ride daily and be happy . Dont know enough about areo ports yet still reading through threads on here about them . so lets go for slot ports for now

Tuning higher wont help your lows. I know alot of factory specs for sub boxes that are "SPL" setups are tuned around 45 hz don't think you will notice that big of a difference in 5 hz will probably be noticeable tho

I understand they wont help my lows by tuning higher , im wondering if im going to lose most of them when i redo my setup . my truck peaks somewhere in the 38-42 range . havent narrowed it down just yet . I want a box thats going to get me at that peaky range but still provide me some decent lows for daily use .

lol, The higher you tune, the less output your going to have on the low end.

It's a trade off, if you want a higher peak (fart box) your going to have to sacrifice low end output.
