I replaced some speakers in my car, basically i took the stock harness for the speakers apart and i put the speaker wires into the stock harness. They are labeled 2/1

basically, i dont know if i put the corresponding +/- wire from the speaker into the harness properly (i just stuck it in and taped it...the speakers work).

All the speakers work, and i did it for 4 of them without checking, if it doesn't match + to + and - to - from the speaker to the harness will there be problems is basicall what im asking

GM vehical?

with that u have to really go by hear... if it doesnt sound right once way switch it up, i had the same problem with my jimmy. i usualy used the darker of the colors as my "negs"

Oh and solder your connections...You will thank me later. I also electrical tape everything too. I also suggest what TEg Racer said, and use the darker of the two as your negative, just keep it consistent and do it the same way everytime. I have a black stripe down my negative wires and the is always my negative.

its a Saab, and its a lease so i can't cut the harness off and do all that good stuff, i really dont wanna slice the wires with an exacto just to solder the wires on...but i will check to make sure they are all correct tomorrow

oh and you can check the polarity with a 9 volt battery. just hook up pos and neg and the speaker should move out a little if it goes back in the polarity is reversed.

thanks whoever i stole this from!!! :p

I use the crimp on .... um.... spade connectors (or "quick connectors" maybe)? They form a little slot that fits over the lug, makes a good connection that you can easily undo if you fiddle in your door a lot (like I do).
