Question about bridging a JL 300/4

Ok, i looked in the manual and it left me a bit confused. It said to take a y adapter and split the one rca in to. So, i would plug the rca into the front ouput on the h/u then i would run it to the amp and take the front left rca and split it into two rca and plug those into the front input on the amp, and then i would take the right rca and split that into two rcas and plug that into the rear input for the amp? Can anyone who has experiance with the 300/4 verify this for me?

Also i have a couple other questions i will put here instead of making multiple threads. Does it matter what kind of solder i use to solder the wires for the h/u. What guage speaker wire should i run from the 300/4 to the CDT hd-62's?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, If you wanted to split either the front or the rear preouts on your deck then you would need a Y spliter.

I think you want to look for a solder with a high silver content. The basic stuff always worked fine for me.

I think 16 awg for the wire should suffice. I always run 12 awg though for the hell of it. www.bcae1.com ---> look up Wire on the right hand side.

the reason you would bridge that amp ( or any 4 channel amp ) in that manner would be if you only needed to run, for example, 1 set of components and had no need for 4 channels. You could split the rca's so that the front channels of the amp are bridged to run the left and the rear channels bridged to run the right side or vice versa.
