question about boxes w/ jbl 1200.1 amp.....

i just bought 4 tempest 15s from jlaine......

i was gonna have a ported box built that would be about 16 cu ft total.......4 cubic feet per sub.......

With there not being an subsonic filter a ported box wouldnt work unless you have eq or xover.

You don't necessarily need a subsonic filter, but there are plenty of crossovers that have them. Check out audio control crossovers.

just tune it low and they should be fine. also, with only 300 watts per sub, i wouldn't worry about it

i got 2 jbl 1200.1's so its 600 watts per subs and the box is going to be tuned at about 23hz.......

is that good or is a equilizer or x over needed?

i just looked at winisd pro, and at full power, they wont go beyond xmax until about 18hz. theres not a whole lot of music that goes that low anyways

it cant hurt, but you shouldnt have much of a problem without one
