Question about an amp

I recently bought an amp and subs off of a friend, and I know a little about car audio but not much.. the amp is a Precision Power D2000/1. Class D Monoblock, and it has 2 speaker inputs. It's a 2000w amp, but wiring it at 2 ohms puts out 600w RMS x 1 channel. Is that 600w per speaker input, or 600w divided evenly between them with both my subs hooked up to it?

that amp is only 1000 watts the 2000 watts is maxx power which means nothing and the speaker terminals are connected so if you wire to 2 ohm subs up you will get 1 ohm load. also yes the power will spread evenly so if you have 2 speakers and only pushing 600 watts each speaker will only see 300 watts.

if your hooking up two 2ohm dvc subs then your getting a 2 ohm load and if there both wired down to 1 ohm then your actually gettin .5 ohm load and could burn your subs up or amp if your amp can not handle lower than 1 ohm http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr162/hifonics98/2_2ohm_dvc_2ohm.gif[/img]"]

Yea, I had 4 subs hooked up to an MTX Thunder 1501D a while back.. I wired them too low, and about a week later my amp just fried. A wasted amp was enough initiative for me to want to start asking questions to fully understand the process before I hooked them up again.. haha.
