Question about amping speakers?

I recently finished buying the speakers for in my car, two Jensen 6x9's and two Kicker 6 1/2's. I want to amp them of course and had a question about it. I was wondering if I should amp them at their RMS or amp them above that just so I keep the amperage under the peak. I ask this because I have my subs amped higher than RMS but under peak and they sound fine but I have heard before that speakers are different.

its always better to have more power than you need, and yes it will be fine if you put just a little bit more than rms to them because they'll most likely never get all of the power your amps are puttin to em, the only time the speakers will get all the power from an amp is when you got the volume turned up all the way and gains
