Question about adding second amp

Im thinking about adding a second amp to power my speakers, would I have to run another power line?

Also I have a 500 watt amp already hooked up and would probably get a 4 channel 500 or so watt amp for the second. Would this be too much power for only having one battery?

Comp amp won't draw that much juice. What size is your current wire? I'd want a minimum of 4gauge split off a distro to power both amps...

4 gauge will be needed. use a run of 4 gauge to the back then get a block to split it up.

Could I just run another 8 or 4 gauge wire instead? I think I want to put it under a seat instead.

come on bro why would you run 8 gauge?

i wont run anything smaller than 4 gauge so take the 8 gauge out and run 4 gauge and get a fused distro block,and use the 8 gauge and cut it in 2 or 3 ft strips to use from the distro block to the amp.

What if I want to run it inside the car instead of the trunk could I just attack a 4 gauge to the battery and have to power wires hooked up to the + of the battery?

Yea u can hook to cables up to the + of the battery. The best way to do it would be like evryone else said, but ur way will be fine.

Ok last question and I know its probably been asked a million times but the search here brings up so many things I could not find the answer.

Is it worth adding an amp on to power my speakers? Will it make them sound a lot better and louder?

Ok well I decided I am going to get an alpine 40 watt x 4 channel amp so that will only be an extra 160 watts RMS (my other amp is probably running at less then 250 too because my sub is only 250 watts RMS)

Would 8 gauge still not be enough to split?

If not I guess I will just get a distro block and some 4 gauge and run it to the trunk. Doesnt make sense to run another wire.

get rid of the crappy 8 gauge it is like a third or fourth of something of 4 gauge. My system in total is drawing 1120 rms and i use all 0 gauge wires.
