Question about adding fuses>>>

I think I know the answer, but I just want to make sure I'm right.

I'm going to be adding 2 (250a ANL) fuses inline to my two main power and ground wires. I'm running a 2500 watt amp.

Am I correct in my sizing for each power and ground; 250amp?

Just wanted to make sure they weren't to small/big......is it even possible to have too big of a fuse?

yeah, then it has no use. the point is to keep too much power out. so yeah, they can be too big

and you fuse for the wire, not the amp

Umm. no...

You don't fuse the ground wire... Only the power wire.

By fusing the ground, you defeat the purpose of it.
