Not true in the least. That 4ga is going to be plenty for him if he is running only 500W. Way more than enough. He's not drawing anywhere close to the max rated capacity of 4ga, shit barely 1/4 of 0ga, and his alt is not that big either to require more than 4ga. In this case, 0ga would be unnecessary, especially since he already has 4ga laying around.any additional wire will help obviously, how much is the question..
you really need 0 gauge to have a significant differece, but if you have the 4 ga around and arent using it, you may as well use it.
Unless he plans on upgrading, which wasn't mentioned.
