Quality Power alternators for BMW

So I've been searching and searching for an alternator for my 325i and almost no one carries one (all special orders). I have emailed several people (dc, excessive amperage, mechman, and singer) for quotes on custom alts for my car but no responses just yet.

BMW 3 Series High Output Alternators

So far this company "quality power audio" has been the only one to actually have alternators for my car. It seems reasonably priced at $400 for 250a. But then again I haven't received a quote from anyone else yet so I have nothing to compare it to.. Anyone have experience with this company?

I would say wait and call the other companies first. Our cars are pretty hard to add certain upgraded parts to so be diligent in your search. My e39 540i6 has a factory 150amp alternator and at last check NO ONE makes a upgraded replacement for it because it's water cooled......

Yea it's a PITA to find some specific parts.. I had no idea alternators could be water cooled honestly. I wouldn't think mine is water cooled as I haven't seen any excess hoses running to it, plus there is a little vent on the back to release hot air. Hopefully I can find something that will work in there. My stock alt is only 120a which is better than most stock, but not enough to run 3-4000w. So I'm gonna have to find something.

Yours isn't water cooled. I was just stating that mine was which makes it THAT much harder upgrading. I've spoken with a few of the manufactures and was told by some of them that they had tried making one that was a high output water cooled replacement but could never get the prototypes to properly cool so they shelved the idea...

well so far the only company to get back to me is Singer alternators. . He said he offers a 200a (220a max) for $490... Now that doesn't seem so bad either, but considering the other company (quality power alternators) offer a 250 amp alternator for almost $100 less, it's kind of a toss up. Unless Singer alt's are that much better that a 200a would outperform the 250a
